Scaling Montana, formerly known as Early Stage MT, was founded in 2018 to accelerate the growth of Montana’s tech ecosystem. From our Speaker Series, to our annual Summit, to the hands-on work we do to mentor, support, and connect founders with the resources they need, we pursue a set of initiatives designed to have maximum beneficial impact towards furthering our mission.

To make Montana a premier place to start and scale tech companies. Leveraging our shared love for Montana, we engage, encourage, educate, and connect key stakeholders to create a world-class ecosystem.

Love for place is our competitive advantage, and by working together we can usher in a new era of prosperity for the region. 

Who do we serve:  

• Founders: technology companies headquartered in Montana, or who have a stated desire to scale their operations and make a deep commitment to the state. 
• Investors: individual or institutional investors who are interested in investing in technology companies in the state. 
• Innovators: local and global enterprises who are looking to establish innovation centers in Montana. 
• Mentors: individuals with deep subject matter expertise who want to give back and help Montana’s entrepreneurs be successful.
  
  

What do we do:

1. Speaker Series: From Phil Venables (CISO Google Cloud) to Greg Avis (cofounder Summit Partners) to Mike Cagney (founder of SoFi and Figure), we invite the best and brightest from around the world to speak to and connect with our ecosystem. 
2. Scaling Montana Summit. We host a conference in Bozeman centered around tech and entrepreneurship with masterclasses, keynotes, and networking for the key stakeholders. 
3. People connection. We actively connect startups to investors, mentors, advisors, and peers, strengthening the fabric of our ecosystem.
4. Founder resources. Whether through a startup handbook or a mentor matching tool, we give Montana’s founders the resources to succeed.
